I took a tumble this week (oh no!) and got bruised up, but not broken. As my best friend says, “the first rule is no falling, no kidding.” I was very lucky and have jumped back into our recording project with renewed vigor.  

My question for your thoughts this week is, when has a song said just enough to get the meaning across?

For example, in the following, is the info in the parentheses needed? Is it implied? What do you think?

“One house has just so much space (but)
One guitar can play a million tunes
Like the music it (the guitar) contains
My heart has endless room”

This is from the song Endless Room not yet released by Janet Feld and me.

Some authors believe that a thought has greater impact if the listener has to figure it out. While others think that our attention spans these days are so short we must be guided to the meanings.
